An ideal Vintage party table for Christening, Baby Shower or a first birthday.

This party is pure inspiration for those of you who, like me, are a little tired of the classic polka dots on a pink or light blue background to decorate a Baby Shower, Christening or even a first birthday party. This table is inspired by the parties of the past... those tables assembled with materials that we had at home without great pretensions.

Lace ribbons, wire, embroidery floss, spikes, recycled buttons and frayed pieces of fabric... seem like materials taken more from a sewing workshop than a party supply store.

Before designing a party, we always present the materials that we are going to use on a table or a wall and we assemble a small inspiration board or Mood Board. In this photograph you can see a part of the Moodboard of this Vintage party.

British artist Mandy Sutcliff's Belle & Boo party collection was the perfect starting point for this table. Lots of handmade details and a combination of textures, powdery colors and soft materials make this celebration very delicate, sweet and close.

garland with fabric scraps

A Kraft cardboard letter with the honoree's initial decorated the wall above the table. We also made a fabric garland with fabric scraps tied to a rope that gave a vintage touch to the decor. We use the gold polka dot stickers on our website to give a bit of color to the white wall... I love how they turned out!

In my book Fiestas you will find all the DIYs for this table so that you can copy it exactly and I promise you guaranteed success :)

I always use Ceramic Cake Stand to generate different heights on the table. The food: great macarons, walnut and cheese cupcakes, oatmeal cookies made at home by me :), various sweets in the colors of the table and a great carrot cake that was the centerpiece of the table that my friend Eli brought me warmed fresh out of the oven for photos.

The glass jars were decorated with ribbons and tassels made with embroidery threads of the colors chosen for this party.

details to give away

We made cones filled with handmade cookies to give to each of the guests, using decorated Scrap sheets .
