Our little Olivia turns 5

Like every year, Olivia's birthday is upon me! Without realizing it is already October 22. This year she turned 5, how old she is, I see her and I don't believe how fast time flies!

I tell you that this time she asked me to invite 9 class friends to her house for a snack, she wanted nothing more than to spend an afternoon playing with her friends and invite them to eat cake. Luckily the weather this week in Barcelona has endured and I was able to take advantage of setting up a table for them on the terrace and organizing a snack without great pretensions.

A week before I made your invitation with the new application that we have incorporated (with great enthusiasm) to our newly launched website. We have been wanting to offer the possibility of personalizing the party invitation for a long time and most importantly, free and in our language. I leave you the Link in case any of you have not yet seen the models that we have designed. free personalized invitations

Well, we made her invitation together... she chose the one with colored stripes. We send it by e-mail to all the mothers of the invited friends and some by WhatsApp, very comfortable! I received the invitation as a pdf on my mobile and I forwarded it. I leave you an image of how our invitation turned out so you can see it!

The day before, I took her after school to look for things to decorate her party, at our Showroom. This is what amuses her the most! He likes everything, he can't make up his mind and generally decides that I like it to the contrary... I suppose that happens to many of you with your daughters! Well, nothing..., he chose what he wanted.

Everything in lilac and pink tones and combined triangles, with moles, rhombuses and madeleines from Ladurée... come on, everything! The truth is that in the end the mix was very funny.

I had a large Ikea blackboard at home where I wrote "Olivia turns 5" with chalk that decorated the terrace and welcomed all the little friends.

I put a Pallet that I found, a long time ago on the street, as a background to the table to give it a more rustic touch that I really like and to frame it visually. We covered everything with a white Dry Tissue tablecloth and a lilac paper path crossed the table from end to end.

Pink polka dot plates from the Cath Kidston collection, wooden cutlery , pastel paper straws , lilac triangle cups from the My Little Day collection and Ladurée cupcake napkins made a perfect tandem!

On the wooden pallet I made a garland with balloons in the colors of the party, medium paper lanterns , some honeycomb balls and a Pom Pom or large paper flower in very light aqua green tissue paper to soften everything. I also recycled a garland from a previous Meri Meri collection "Forest Fairies" and entwined it to the set of balloons , lamps, PomPoms and Honeycomb Balls. It was somewhat chaotic as I like it...

The cake was the center of the table as always. I made a cake with natural raspberry essence without filling because Olivia doesn't like fillings and she was the queen, that is, to follow orders... The cake recipe is from the "Carolina's Kitchen" Blog, A perfect cake to decorate . I discovered it several months ago and the truth is that I have always made my last biscuits with this recipe, it never fails, I recommend it.

Once I had the cake, we added a very thin layer of Fondant flavored with a white cloud of sugar on the surface and with a brush and a little water I wrote the word "Olivia". Then she herself added little sugar balls that stuck when they touched the water. The leftover balls were falling little by little to the cake support.

To the cake we added a candle with the number 5 and some very girly Shabby Chic cake garlands! The stand for the cake, the metal buckets where we place the wooden forks and straws, and the glass bucket for the marshmallows are from Ikea.

For snack we had chocolate shake in vintage glass bottles , water and orange fanta, sweets, sugar clouds, different types of salty sandwiches, fruit and the inevitable little hooks that everyone likes so much.

Once again, the decorated cookies that Larysa makes with so much love and gives to Olivia at each birthday party were the perfect gift for each guest. They each chose their own before going home as party favors.

They dressed up, danced and played restaurants and of course the piñata could not be missing.

Olivia was happy and I was too to see her so happy and excited... just seeing that little face I think it's worth the effort.

I hope you like it and it gives you ideas for your next party!
